Digital Lomographic Art
In “Digital Lomographic Art” Ricardo Hage presents pictures taken from his everyday life using an iPhone and CameraBag. This software transforms the pictures inside the camera phone trying to add the kind of characteristics we found in lomo film cameras.
His photos, obtained wherever he carries his mobile phone, shows his unique composition and color choices, transforming the pictures in a record of another world, full of wonder and mystery. We start to follow Ricardo’s images as someone looking for missing elements in a puzzle.
The pictures reproduced in this book are a selection of images obtained with this process. The selection prioritized the visual impact produced by the image and the transformation degree obtained between reality and the modified picture.
Plains of Spain
In “Plains of Spain” braziliam photographer Ricardo Hage presents pictures produced while traveling through Spain in the winter of 2010.
His photos, always obtained from inside trains, automobiles, airplanes and buses, have a duality between the technically perfect image and blur, distressed, faded photos.
The light is always a vital component in the work of Ricardo: if abundantly present the image suffers less, the camera’s sensitivity increases and decreases distortion. Where, instead, the light fades, a new image, full of mystery and fantastic distortions appears.
We follow the images of the artist as someone looking for missing elements in a puzzle. Sometimes, watching a small area of his pictures, we find scenes of great drama, that are not even imagined if we look at the images without attention.
